This is the most common type of the ketogenic diet with a carbohydrate intake limited to 20-30 grams of net carbs a day (although the exact amount depends on the individual). The SKD is very similar to the Induction phase of the Atkins Diet. The majority of people on the keto diet follow the SKD, the variations (targeted or cyclical) are more suited to athletes or individuals with specific health goals who have already been following the SKD for some time.
